Notes

Both hat and mittens have a folded hem. Hat is knit flat and seamed together. Mittens are knit flat to the thumb, seamed, then the thumb and palm are knit in the round.
A simple intarsia color change occurs in both the hat and mittens. To prevent a gap when changing colors, wrap the new color being used under the strand of the unused color.
Hat and mittens can be knit reversing the main color and contrast color, or with the same main color.
