About Shibui /

Shibui Knits is based in Portland, Oregon, a city that is internationally famous for creativity and the arts. 'Shibui' means "elegant with a touch of bitterness" in Japanese, and we try to bring that sentiment to all of our products.

We are constantly searching for unique fiber and texture combinations to include in our yarn lines. Our current selection of yarns have been spun from the finest fibers available, then dyed in our special color palette. The result is a breadth of both color and texture, creating yarns that are both beautiful to look at and luxurious to touch.
Our patterns, like our yarns, are intended to help knitters of all skill levels create beautiful, elegant pieces. We strive to develop patterns that use our yarns to their fullest extent, as well as providing classic, flattering silhouettes to wearers of all ages, shapes, and sizes.
